Search Begins For Missing Man Near Longs Peak

No one has seen or heard from the Air Force Academy cadet since Friday.

ESTES PARK, CO -- Early this morning, search efforts began for a missing Air Force Academy cadet. Micah Tice, 20, has not been heard from since Friday, Nov. 23. His car was found Monday afternoon near the Longs Peak trailhead, according to a press release from Rocky Mountain National Park.

Tice’s planned destination and route are unknown. Saturday's weather on Longs was very cold, with high winds and significant snow accumulation.

Rocky Mountain National Park rangers were notified Monday that the US Air Force Academy was asking for assistance in locating Tice. The park's search and rescue team's work will begin with a focus on the lower sections of the Longs Peak Trail, to the Keyhole and Chasm junction.
