Sledding Accident Leads To Search And Rescue
Man struck a rock near Bluebell Road, was hospitalized.

BOULDER, CO -- One man was hospitalized after he veered off course while sledding in Chautauqua Park just west of Bluebell Road on Monday afternoon. Cody Jacobs, 23, struck a rock and sustained injuries to his lower body, according to a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Department.
A friend hiked to the nearby Chautauqua Ranger Station to call 911. Medical care was provided on-scene, and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group performed a litter evacuation to an ambulance on Baseline Road. Jacobs was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The entire rescue effort took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time of call to when Jacobs was put in the ambulance.
Personnel from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, AMR Ambulance, and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group assisted with the rescue effort.
