Smash And Grab Burglaries Continue To Plague Longmont

Five businesses suffered early morning hits, adding to a string of similar local robberies.

LONGMONT, CO -- Five south Longmont businesses were burglarized in the early morning of Monday, Nov. 6, according to a press release from the Longmont Police Department. Police officials characterize the incidents as "smash and grab" robberies, and say there have been a total of 12 similar occurrences in the area since September.

Officials believe these burglaries were likely committed by the same person or people based on previous patterns, and say that the suspects in the Longmont burglaries possibly are involved in other similar incidents in the Denver metro area.

Two of the burglaries, a restaurant and a retail store, occurred in the 1200 block of Ken Pratt Boulevard. Two more, a restaurant and a gas station, occurred in the 600 block of Frontage Road. The final burglary occurred in the 800 block of Ken Pratt Boulevard at a restaurant.
