- It was a very scary morning for the students in Colorado Wednesday as several districts called for a shelter-in-place in response to what has been reported as several phone threats from unidentified sources. According to cbsnews.com, "the CU Dispatch Center received a call at 8:33 a.m. Wednesday about an active shooter outside Boulder High School. "I have listened to this 911 call, it is very scary, in the background of the call you can actually hear shots being fired," said Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold. "The caller indicated that he was outside of the high school with a semi-automatic weapon." Police reportedly responded to the school, but found no evidence of a credible threat. According to Colorado Public Radio, "the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Denver office and local law enforcement agencies said they were continuing to investigate the source of the calls."(Colorado Public Radio)
- Suite Studio co-founders Mike Hering, Craig Hering and Jay Maxwell are all smiles since they have announced that their Boulder-based startup is expanding and it was able to raise $3.5 million in seed funding. The company will reportedly be using the majority of the funds to increase its staff and continue to develop its platform. Suite Studio works to help creative agencies convert work to the cloud. - Although the street location of the Boulder Farmer's Market won't be returning until April 1, there is an option to continue to buy from local farmers through the online market at shop.bcfm.org. So, until the days get longer, the sun shines brighter and the seeds begin to pop-up through the thawed out soil, buy what's in season online and enjoy! (Colorado Hometown Weekly)
- Get ready for the 9th Annual Hebrew Schmooze-A-Palooza Concert, which will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at CU Boulder Campus at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Main Chapel. The event will be filled with music, dance and schmoozing as University of Colorado Boulder students from the program in Jewish studies present a collection of songs in the Hebrew/Israeli repertoire backed by a live band. Join in as students take their language knowledge beyond the classroom and celebrate Hebrew learning, while listening to CU students rap and rock out. (Boulder Jewish News)
