Traffic Alert: Lane Closures On The Diagonal Highway

Northbound restrictions to begin today and last through Nov. 7.

BOULDER, CO -- One northbound lane will be closed on the Diagonal Highway beginning Monday, Oct. 29 between 47th Street and the exit ramp south to Boulder, on the section that connects from Foothills Parkway. The other northbound lane will remain open, but travelers should expect delays, particularly during evening commute hours according to a press release from the City of Boulder.

The closure, managed by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is needed to complete reconstruction of the exit ramp as part of the Diagonal Crossing development project and is anticipated to last through Nov. 7.

Separately but in the same area, Valmont Road from 30th Street to Foothills Parkway will be closed to through-traffic beginning Nov. 4 while BNSF Railway replaces the railroad crossing surface and installs new signals on Valmont between 34th Street and Wilderness Place. The city will also make improvements to bike lanes, the intersection and transit stops in the area.
