‘Viking’ Man Hits Woman, Charged With Bias-Motivated Felony: Cops
The 48-year-old is in custody and the case remains under investigation.

BOULDER, CO - A local man faces felony charges after allegedly hitting a woman and telling her, "Go back to China." Jeffrey Karol Bonczyk, 48, was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of committing a bias-motivated crime causing an injury, a Class 5 felony, according to a report from the Daily Camera.
The victim and Bonczyk were "hanging out" near 28th Street and Arapahoe Avenue, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Camera. The victim told Boulder police that Bonczyk became aggressive because of her perceived race. The victim says she told Bonczyk that she is of native descent–not Chinese–leading Bonczyk to tell her, "I'm the first one here, I'm the white one, I'm the Viking." Bonczyk would not stop for police, attempting to leave the area, and the affidavit states that he was "verbally uncooperative" during conversations.
According to Bonczyk, say police reports, the fight started because the victim "hates white people." He also stated that the victim had used a knife to cause a small cut visible on his chin.

The victim stated that Bonczyk pushed her down and kicked her several times, and the witness who reported the incident told police she saw a man, dressed in similar clothing to Bonczyk's that day, hitting a woman several times.
The case remains under investigation.
