Xcel Offers Thanksgiving Open Space Reprieve

Trails closed for long-running projects to open – for one day only – this Thursday.

BOULDER, CO -- It hasn't been an easy fall for those who like to climb Bear Peak. Many trails and approaches have been closed since late August while Xcel executed electrical line replacements in the area. For one day only, all trails will be open to users on Thanksgiving, before closures resume through mid-December.

Upper Bear Canyon and the NCAR-Table Mesa Connector have been under full, 7-day-a-week closures, while Greenbriar, Bluestem, and the upper North and South Shanahan trails have been under intermittent restrictions.

Keep up to date with the full project impact by checking in on the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks website here.
