Accused Killer, On The Loose, Armed And Dangerous: Police

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Police are searching for a man they accuse of fatally shooting another man in Colorado Springs Wednesday. James W. Hanlon, 53, is suspected of the murder of Gary Dolce, 63.

A 63-year-old man who was killed Wednesday in Colorado Springs was recording on his cellphone when he suffered the fatal gunshot wounds, reports say. Gary Dolce's phone was still recording when a medical tech arrived. The suspect is still on the loose.

Police responded around 6:25 p.m. to the 1800 block of Rimwood Drive near the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Police say James W. Hanlon, 53, was the killer and are actively pursuing him.

Police released a photo of Hanlon, who is a white male, 5-foot-11, about 180 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes. Police say he may be driving a 2018 Toyota 4Runner with Colorado license plate CCW619.

He's considered armed and dangerous.

He may have left the state, Colorado Springs police say.
