After Woman Dies, Denver Cop Discovered At Strip Club: Police

The Denver Police Department has issued a suspension for an officer who was caught on video at a strip club while on duty.

DENVER, CO – After a woman who worked at a Denver strip club turned up dead, investigators checking surveillance video recognized a Denver police officer at the club when he was supposed to be on duty.

Officer Shederick Dobbin will be suspended for 10-days and be docked two days of pay starting April 21, Denver7 reported Tuesday.

The TV station reported that Dobbin visited Denver's PT's Showman club, at 1601 W. Evans, on Nov. 5, 2018 while he was supposed to be working a 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. shift. The station posted surveillance video obtained by a Colorado Open Records Act request. The video shows Dobbin entering the club, dressed in civilian clothes.

The station also reported that Denver police investigators said Dobbin had looked up the criminal history of the woman who worked as a dancer and two other people, which represented an unauthorized use of the Denver police computerized criminal background system.

Dobbin told Denver Police Department Internal Affairs investigators he wanted to find out if the woman was “somebody I can be around,” Denver7 reported. He was not doing any type of formal criminal investigation, the station said.
