Denver Police Arrest Driver In Fatal LoDo Hit-And-Run

A Golden man was arrested in connection with an accident that killed a pedestrian.

DENVER, CO – Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday arrested a man accused of striking a pedestrian in a Denver crosswalk in LoDo.

Jerek Fabjancic, 39, was arrested in Golden and faces charges of vehicular homicide, the Denver District Attorney's Office said.

Police said around 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, Fabjancic was behind the wheel of a red Toyota truck driving southbound on Blake Street when he ran a red light at 15th Street, causing a three-vehicle accident and striking a pedestrian who was "legally in the north crosswalk of the intersection."

The truck fled the scene without stopping, police said. The pedestrian was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and pronounced dead. Police did not identify the pedestrian.

Police said the driver and his vehicle were located in Lakewood later that night.

Fabjancic was released on a $20,000 bond. His next court date is April 26, according to online court records.
