Denver Veteran Recognized in VFW Still Serving Campaign
Veterans of Foreign Wars' Still Serving campaign celebrates veterans who continue to improve their communities after military service.

Denver veteran Bridget Domenighini is being recognized in the national VFW Still Serving campaign, which celebrates veterans who continue to strengthen their communities after military service.
A member of Denver Post 1, Domenighini serves as volunteer puppy raiser and development director for Canine Partners of the Rockies. The first dog she trained, Parker, now provides comfort and support at a local children’s counseling center. She is currently raising her second dog, Bodhi. Additionally, she leads and promotes partner programs for the non-profit that places trained service dogs with veterans living with disabilities. The organization also coordinates therapeutic dog visits for veterans with traumatic brain injuries at local clinics and facilities across Colorado.
Domenighini says the work is deeply personal. During the two-year training period, the puppies help her feel confident, comfortable and calm as they accompany her everywhere. She says the dogs are just as valuable to her as well as they will be to the human they will eventually serve.
