Here are the top three stories today in Denver:
- Brandon McManus, the longtime kicker for the Denver Broncos, was recently released by the team after spending nine years with them. In a heartfelt gesture, McManus took out a full-page ad in the Denver Post to express his gratitude to the Broncos fanbase and individually thank over 150 staff members. The letter, which has gained viral attention on social media, emphasized the support, love, and sense of community that made his time with the Broncos special, and he signed it as the Super Bowl 50 Champion. - Kavod Senior Life in Denver is organizing its annual positive aging conference on Jun. 14 at Temple Emanuel in Hilltop. The conference will feature workshops by experts in the aging field, covering spiritual, physical, and emotional aspects of life. The event aims to address aging-related topics with a touch of humor, promoting learning and engagement while catering to individuals from all backgrounds or faiths. - Frontier Airlines, based in Denver, has ranked last in a recent analysis of major airlines, citing high rates of bumping passengers, customer complaints, and fees. The analysis found that Frontier denied boarding to over 6,000 passengers against their wishes in 2022 and received the highest number of complaints per 100,000 travelers. The airline has faced ongoing friction with fliers, prompting Colorado authorities to call for a federal investigation. (Greeley Tribune)
