Moldy Marijuana Recalled In Denver And Pueblo

DENVER, CO — Marijuana sold in Denver and Pueblo has been recalled due to high "yeast and mold counts."

A Denver-based marijuana business, Doctor’s Orders LLC, doing business as "Doctor’s Orders," voluntarily recalled all retail marijuana plant material being sold after an inspection from the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment showed "potentially unsafe levels of yeast/mold," the Denver health department said in a statement.

Affected plant material comes from a single cultivation facility and has a label with the OPC code 403R-00045, the health department said. The health department said 10 retail stores carried the product.

There have been no reports of illness. The possible health impact of consuming marijuana products with elevated yeast/mold counts is unknown, the health department said.

"Short-term and long-term health impacts resulting from inhalation exposure to such contaminants may exist depending on the duration, frequency, level of exposure, route of exposure and health condition of the consumer. Consumers with concerns about their personal health should contact their physician with related questions," DDPHE said in a statement.
