Museum of Nature & Science Free For Furloughed Federal Workers
Through January, federal workers on furlough because the the U.S. government shutdown may visit the Denver museum free.

DENVER, CO – Denver's Museum of Nature & Science is offering a special gift to federal furloughed workers with time on their hands: Furloughed workers and one guest are invited to visit the museum at no cost for general admissions, when workers show their government ID in-person at the museum.
The offer lasts through Jan. 31, said Museum Spokesperson Maura O'Neal, which hopefully will be longer than the government shutdown itself.
About 53,000 federal employees live in the state, but not all are furloughed or work in departments affected by the shutdown.

Employees who don't work directly for the feds, but for contractors to the nine federal departments affected are also out of work. The departments are: Homeland Security, Transportation, Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, State and Justice.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment has offered to process unemployment benefits for affected federal workers. Local non-profits, such as the Action Center in Lakewood are also offering temporary assistance to affected government workers.
