Here's how it works (denverite.com) — Your next Denver Water bill is going up, with average customers seeing a few extra dollars a month to help fund major infrastructure work. The utility says the higher rates, already in effect, will support lead-pipe replacement across its service area and expansion of Gross Reservoir, projects aimed at securing safer, more reliable water for Denver residents.

Elevated Denver uses storytelling to address homelessness among older adults (denver7.com) — Homelessness among older adults in the Denver metro area is pushing a local nonprofit, Elevated Denver, to use storytelling, art, and community hubs to connect people with help faster. Through a downtown Denver gallery and a Westwood resource center, residents with lived experience are leading efforts to shorten the time to services and shift how neighbors see unhoused older adults.
   

3. Denver Health text message campaign boosts kids' flu vaccination rates by 63% in Black communities (9news.com) — Denver parents in Five Points and Northeast Park Hill may soon see more effective vaccine reminders, as a Denver Health study found culturally tailored text messages boosted flu shots for young Black children by 63%. Conducted during the 2024–25 flu season, the trial highlights how community-driven messaging and regular clinic visits can help close vaccination gaps across Denver’s neighborhoods.
   

4. Woman assaulted near South Broadway; police ask neighbors to check security cameras (kdvr.com) — Denver police are investigating an assault on a woman near South Broadway and Louisiana Avenue and are asking neighbors and businesses to review security footage from early Wednesday evening. A nearby business owner describes bystanders stepping in to help and shares broader worries about safety and dim lighting in the area. Officers say patrols are being increased and tips can be shared with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
   

5. Former Pioneers star Jack Hannah aims to grow lacrosse in return to Denver (denver7.com) — Lacrosse fans in Denver will see a familiar face back on the turf as former University of Denver star Jack Hannah joins the Colorado Mammoth and settles in full time. Hannah is already scoring big, while also running a local training facility and coaching young players to grow the sport across the Denver area.
