Pilot Killed In Plane Crash Near Estes Park Identified
Marc Thor Olsen was called to the Kruger Rock Fire, when his plane went down, officials said.

ESTES PARK, CO — The name of a pilot who died in a plane crash near Estes Park has been released.
Marc Thor Olsen's plane crashed Tuesday night at the Kruger Rock Fire, officials confirmed.
"The Co Fire Aviation family is deeply saddened by the sudden, tragic loss of one of our brothers serving as a tanker pilot," CO Fire Aviation said in a statement.

Olsen spent 32 years serving the Army and Air Force, and was highly decorated, the organization said.
"During Thor's 42 years of flight, he had amassed more than 8,000 total flight hours with an impressive 1,000 hours of NVG flight including in combat and civilian flight."
