Police Investigating Fatal Morning Shooting Near Denver Park

DENVER, CO – A man was shot dead Thursday morning near a park Denver's Valverde neighborhood, police said.

Denver police tweeted that a "male" was killed in the 100 block of South Yuma Street, which is near West Bar Val Wood Park playing fields. The victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

The case is considered a homicide and no arrests had yet been made, police said.
