Spring Fire In Colorado Grows To 94,000 Acres
More than 2,000 people have been evacuated as the week-old fire burned through 100 homes.

LA VETA, CO -- A week-old wildfire in southern Colorado continued to gain fuel Wednesday, growing to more than 94,000 acres. The Spring Fire, which sparked June 26 from a fire pit, has scorched through 100 homes and forced the evacuation of 2,000 residents, officials said.
The fire grew by 10,000 acres in the last 24 hours, making it the largest wildfire in state history, officials said.
"An arid landscape, high winds and hot temperatures have all fueled the fast moving blaze," the Denver Post reported. "Locals have nicknamed it the double-headed dragon."
