DENVER, CO — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes who are making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Relationship to nominee: Volunteer and cook with him at outreach.

Reason for recognition: Dan Martinez is a street minister and angel, feeding, clothing, and helping the homeless community. He has been carrying his 14 foot cross all over the country now for more than 8 years! He makes a COMPLETE 5 course dinner every single holiday!

One thing to know: He has a heart of gold, and will, and does, help everybody, especially our friends of the streets of Colfax!
