Tornado Warning Expires In Denver Area: National Weather Service

A tornado touched down just north of Denver International Airport during an afternoon storm.

DENVER, CO — The National Weather Service has canceled a tornado warning for Denver and Adams counties after a tornado moved through the area Sunday afternoon.

Storms are still possible in the area until Sunday evening, weather officials said.

A tornado touched down near Denver International Airport around 2:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The tornado touched down just north of the airport and moved northeast, the agency's Boulder office said in a tweet.

The tornado warning for Denver and Adams counties expired at 3:15 p.m.
