Victim Identified in Denver's Athmar Park Shooting
A man is in custody in connection with the Denver shooting death of John Skopinski, 55.
DENVER, CO – A man killed in the morning in Denver's Athmar Park neighborhood earlier this week was identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner Friday.
On March 4, police tweeted around 8:40 a.m. that they were investigating a shooting death in the 2100 block of West Center Avenue.
The medical examiner identified the victim Friday as John Skopinski, 55. The coroner's office said Skopinski died of gunshot wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

Police arrested Brent Williams, 52, for investigation of murder in connection with Skopinski’s death. Williams was the resident of the apartment where the shooting happened, around 2 a.m., police said.
