- A bill that would raise the legal age of purchasing a gun to 21 cleared the House State, Civic, Military and Veterans Affairs committee yesterday. It is now going to the full chamber for debate. The bill, which hopes to increase public safety, includes caveats of police officers and military members aged 18-21 and individuals with specific certifications. (Fox 31)
- Former Denver Police Department sergeant Timothy Ronald Hyatt, 45, was sentenced earlier this week for attempting to sexually assault a minor. Hyatt will be registered as a sex offender and undergo intensive supervised probation. (Denver 7)
- May Bonfils Stanton Performing Art Center is being reborn through a a $9.3 million renovation. This midcentury theater is hoping to become a cultural staple of the city and increase opportunities for artists in Denver. (The Denver Post)
- Two teenagers died in a sledding incident at Copper Mountain ski resort this weekend. The two teenagers were sledding after the resort had closed and experienced fatal blunt-force trauma after falling onto ice. (CBS Colorado)
