• SUV driver in Central bus crash is looking at possible homicide charge (kdvr.com) — A serious crash at Kipling Parkway and West Sixth Avenue in Lakewood has left one passenger dead and several Central High School wrestlers still hospitalized, and the SUV driver now faces possible vehicular homicide charges. Lakewood police say excessive speed played a major role and are working with prosecutors on upgraded counts as the investigation continues.
   

• Affidavit: 83-year-old woman was strangled to death in Lakewood burglary; suspect arrested (denver7.com) — Lakewood police have arrested a 41-year-old man accused of breaking into an 83-year-old woman’s S. Kendall Street home, killing her, and trying to set the house on fire. An affidavit says DNA from a burned glove and other evidence tied him to the scene, and he’s now being held without bond on murder, arson, and burglary charges.
   

• Woman faces multiple allegations of financial crimes 14 years after she faked her cancer diagnosis (9news.com) — Lakewood residents are learning that Ann Crall, whose fake cancer scheme once stunned the Lakewood Police Department and community, is now facing fresh financial crime charges. Prosecutors in Jefferson and Prowers counties accuse her of multiple fraud, theft, forgery, and motor vehicle theft offenses, and a legal analyst says her history could mean lengthy prison time if she’s convicted.
