Here are the top four stories in Lakewood today:

  1. Alternatives Pregnancy Center, an anti-abortion organization, is receiving criticism in the from Colorado politicians. A bill is currently being discussed to address how these centers promote deceptive procedures. Read more at Vail Daily.
  2. The Denver Public School system's steadily declining enrollment may result in school closures. As of now, Superintendent Alex Marrero is focusing on Denver Discovery School and Math and Science Leadership Academy as schools that may have to be consolidated or closed due to the district's declining student body.   3. The state Capitol will see a right-to-repair bill for agricultural equipment this year. The bill would allow many farming appliances to be repaired for free if they break, which would prevent or at least slow a loss of revenue over broken equipment. Read more at Fox 31.
  4. A new charter school with a mission statement about black excellence is scheduled to open in Denver. If enough students enroll this week, then the school will open for kindergarten and first grade come fall. Learn more at 9 News.
