Another Red Flag Warning Issued For Parts Of Metro Denver

"Outdoor burning should be avoided, as well as any activities that may cause sparks," the National Weather Service said in an alert.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — The National Weather Service has issued another red flag warning for some regions in Denver's metro area.

The warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for parts of Jefferson, Douglas, Clear Creek and Boulder counties at certain elevations:

  • Boulder County: Between 6,000 and 9,000 feet
  • Jefferson County: Above, 6,000 feet
  • West Douglas County: Above 6,000 feet
  • Clear Creek: Below 9,000 feet

A red flag warning is issued when there are critical fire weather conditions.

Humidity could reach as low as 10 percent, and winds are expected to gust between 15 and 25 mph, but could gust up to 45 mph, weather officials said.

"Any fires that develop are likely to spread rapidly," the weather alert reads. "Outdoor burning should be avoided, as well as any activities that may cause sparks.
