  1. Avalanche season, which can last until May, has already resulted in four fatalities this season in Colorado. Experts say that those enjoying backcountry activities this spring should be sure to check conditions beforehand and have a safety plan in place. (Fox 31)
  2. All of Denver's 17 mayoral candidates agree that the city feels less safe than it used to, even if they disagree on how to address these public safety concerns. Robert Davis of the Denver Task Force to Reimagine Policing and Public Safety says, "What we’re looking for in a mayor is someone who is creative, who doesn’t take the lazy approach, which is to delegate every public safety issue to law enforcement." (The Denver Post)
  3. An acquitted Denver man is filing a lawsuit under Senate Bill 217, the state's police accountability law, after a jury found him not-guilty of his partner's suicide. Judge Charlotte N. Sweeney thinks that the case could show that the involved officers did not perform a just investigation. (The Gazette)
  4. Jacob Robert Waddelow, 46, died in federal custody on Friday morning. The incident occurred at the Detention Center in Littleton. (The Fort Morgan Times)
