  1. Lakewood’s camping ban, which was voted on last month, will go into effect on April 19. The ban makes it illegal to sleep in public spaces overnight, with the goals of encouraging unhoused people to seek beds in one of the nearby shelters. The ban is also hoping to limit the use of drugs in public. However, there may not be enough beds available for the homeless population. (AOL)
  2. Recent lawsuits are accusing Lakewood's Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies facility of exposing nearby residents to increased cancer risks. Both The Environmental Protection Agency and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment say that the increased ethylene oxide levels caused by the facility pose some, albeit small, danger to the children and adults in the area. (CBS Colorado)
  3. The City of Denver is searching for an artist, preferably one that has been incarcerated themselves, to paint a mural in the jail's visitation room. The project's budget is $14,000. (The Denver Post)
  4. Coloradans have a better tax season than most Americans. In fact, Colorado is ranked 11th in United States for the following three criteria: tax returns including write-offs, deduction's cost, and percentage of income the itemized deductions equal. Maryland is the top of the list. (Fox 31)
