1. In response to a death of an inmate, Denver's Citizen Oversight Board is asking for more transparency from Denver Health about medical care in prisons. "It's really about making sure the system is functioning so there is accountability and transparency to the public about the outcomes for people in that facility who don’t have the opportunity to share their concerns or voice their concerns publicly because they are incarcerated," said chair Julia Richman. 2. Denver is among one of the cities eligible for Uber's new audio recording safety mechanism. The new feature allows passengers and/or drivers to record audio for the duration of the ride. Uber would not have access to the audio unless the person who recorded it submitted it to the company with a complaint. (Fox 31)
3. The state psychiatric hospital in Denver is offering a bonus of $14,000 to the first 1,000 nurses hired between this location and Pueblo's psychiatric hospital. This sign-on bonus is hoping to get both locations fully staffed so they can take in more patients and boost morale of the workforce. (News 5)
4. Two car accidents involving pedestrians are being investigated by the Denver police. Once incident occurred late Wednesday morning; the other occurred early Thursday morning. Information regarding who was injured and how badly has not yet been released. (Fox 31)
