Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:
- The switch to remote work in 2020 exposed how much commute length matters. Lakewood ranks No. 5 in the state and No. 335 in the nation for the worst commutes. An average commute to work for a Lakewood resident is 30.7 minutes. Learn more at Fox 31.
- The homeownership rate in the Denver area, as of the last quarter of 2022, is higher than it has been since the Great Recession. The homeownership rate is 67.7 percent, which is about average for an American metro area. In 2005-2006, Denver's homeownership rate was about 70 percent. Read more at Fox 31.
- The default speed limit within the city of Denver has changed from 25 to 20 miles per hour. New signs are being posted throughout the city signifying this change, which has already gone into effect. Visit 9 News to find out more.
