FREE 'Bagel And Schmear' Campaign Launches Saturday

Saturday is National Bagel Day. Lakewood-based Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering free bagels.

LAKEWOOD, CO – Bagels and breakfast. They go together, right? Lakewood-based Einstein Brothers Bagels is reinforcing that concept for National Bagel Day (Saturday Feb. 9).

As part of the company's Power of the Bagel campaign, the restaurant chain in offering "a free bagel and shmear with purchase to all guests," at participating locations.

The campaign is highlighting the amount of protein in bagels, the company said.

"We regularly see people looking for plant-based proteins that provide essential nutrients while still tasting delicious," said Kelly Springer, dietitian and spokesperson for the company in a statement. "With at least 9 grams of protein, Einstein Bros.' bagels are a plant-based breakfast food that don't compromise on taste."

The company says any one Einstein Bros. bagel "contains as much or more protein" than a large egg, three slices of turkey, two tablespoons of creamy peanut butter, or one cup of two percent milk.

The National Bagel Day offer from Einstein Bros. Bagels is available at participating locations, except license stores inside of colleges, airports, hotels and hospitals, the company said.
