"Gaylene has missed work and is struggling to come to terms with this tragedy ... She and her children need to get into therapy to try and understand and cope with this. She still needs to try and maintain her home and supply necessities for the family. Gaylene would be very grateful for any help she can receive."

Ward will also have to miss work for many court hearings, Beckett said.
