  1. Proposed House Bill 1230, which would ban the sale of assault rifles in the state of Colorado, did not pass through the Judiciary Committee. The bill was debated for over 15 hours before being voted against 8 to 5. (CBS Colorado)
  2. Firefighters were called to an apartment fire in Lakewood early Friday morning. One person died as a result of the fire, and three others were hospitalized with injuries. (9 News)
  3. Arianna Blue, a 23-year-old indigenous woman, has been found after going missing on April 5. The Lakewood Police Deparment sent out an missing indigenous person alert and reported Blue safe in the early morning hours Friday. (9 News)
  4. After an April of warm weather, snow is returning to metro Denver this weekend. There’s a winter weather advisory until 6 P.M. today in Elkhead and Park Mountains, Flat Tops and Front Range mountains. (9 News)
