Here are the top four stories in Lakewood today:

1. Sunday night, a Lakewood house fire left a resident in critical condition. The resident re-entered the Fenton Street house to find his two pet cats. He was later hospitalized. One cat was found with injuries that later resulted in its death. The other cat remains missing. (CBS Colorado)
2. The Denver Art Museum is currently exhibiting local art by young Indigenous people. The display is specifically for local artists and the museum plans to call for more Indigenous art in the upcoming months. Sophie Hill, one of the local artists on display, makes beadwork in the Ojibwe tradition. She commented on the exhibit, "I hope that [visitors] learn that not only do we still exist, but that we are a really strong and prominent culture." (9 News)
3. Average Colorado gas costs 69 cents more than the national average. It is also 75 cents more expensive, on average, than it was one year ago. As of Sunday, the state average was $4.10 per gallon. (9 News)
4. Arturo Villalobos, 41, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder of 41-year-old James Nixon. The incident occurred in Denver last April. (9 News)
