- Vice President Kamala Harris will speak to Denver on Monday. The discussion will focus on the administration’s climate change initiatives. It has yet to be announce where the event will take place.(9 News)
- While off-duty, a Denver police officer hit 70-year-old pedestrian, who died at the scene. Because the man was not walking in a crosswalk, it is likely the officer will not be faulted for the incident. Officials suspect neither of the involved individuals were under the influence. (The Denver Post)
- As of yesterday, wine can be legally sold in Colorado grocery stores. This was voted on back in November and residents of Lakewood, such as April Brennan, are excited about the convenience the change will bring. “I can get all my grocery shopping done,” Brennan told CBS, “like a one-stop-shop type thing.” Critics worry how this will affect small and locally-opened liquor stores. - Two teenaged Denver Public School students have been arrested in associated with the shooting of a East High School student. The shooting of Luis Garcia occurred 3 weeks ago, and since then his peers have demanded more protection from gun violence. Yesterday afternoon, a family spokesperson informed Fox 31 that Garcia has passed away. (FOX 31)
