- Project VOYCE, an organization born to train young activists of color, has realized the importance of Colorado's youth mental health crisis. The crisis existed prior to the pandemic, but worsened between 2020 and 2021. U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, who visited Colorado last month, agrees that being proactive is necessary to fight the crisis. Read more at The Denver Post.
- Denver Public Schools are being urged to reform their school safety plan to account for trauma, lack of representation, and social media influences. The district is currently working on creating a safety plan and safe environment with former public safety officer Murphy Robinson. Learn more at CPR News.
- Against homeowners wishes, a mansion in City Park West has received acknowledgement as a historical landmark. The homeowner says this is "anti-development" and "anti-affordable housing," and is asking for a third-party to review the decision. Learn more at The Denver Post.
- The 24th year of Film on the Rocks begins on June 12th with "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark." Tickets are $20 for general admission. Other films being shown this summer include "Mamma Mia" and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." Find out more through 9 News.
