Regal Theaters Reopening In Colorado Before ‘Tenet’ Release

Regal Cinemas this week announced it will reopen all its theaters nationwide Aug. 21 and will be primed to feature the upcoming Warner Bros. movie “Tenet.” The Christopher Nolan-directed film will make its international debut in August before coming to the United States on Labor Day weekend.

While masks will be required for guests in the lobby, hallways and restrooms, moviegoers will be allowed to take their masks off while inside the theater.

Employees will be required to wear masks and will be given daily health screenings and temperature checks.

Regal Cinemas has 13 locations in Colorado.

Its reopening comes as welcome news for those looking forward to the much-anticipated Sept. 3 release date of “Tenet.” An IMDB description of the movie says its protagonist “journeys through a twilight world on international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.”

Regal also plans to put a number of safety measures in place for moviegoers, including offering contactless payment options and introducing a new sanitation process with “fogger” equipment, according to its website.

Mooky Greidinger, the CEO of Regal’s parent company Cineworld, said theatergoers have been “anxiously awaiting the year’s upcoming releases,” Variety reported.

“With the health and safety of our staff, customers and communities as our top priority, we are happy to invite audiences to return to the timeless theatrical experience that we have all dearly missed,” Greidinger said.
