Veronica Mendez

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:

Yes

What does the nominee do for work?:

Temperature screener (COVID-19)

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

My mom is a single mom. She works hard to try to give me what I need. My mom works nights. My uncle Rigo lives with us and he, mom and I are a team — we help each other.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:

My mom has been a fighter. In 2019, she was hurt on her job, and had to have surgery on her right hand. She was a dental assistant but was let go from her job due to her injuries. Regardless of her financial situation, she still puts a smile on her face and makes me feel special in every way. Now as an essential worker, she puts herself at risk for me to put food on the table and pay rent. A MOTHER'S LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL.

Thank you for all you do, Veronica!
