Trooper Struck By SUV While Investigating Crash In Lakewood
A Colorado State Patrol Trooper was sent to the hospital after being struck by a car on Wadsworth Blvd and US 285.

LAKEWOOD, CO – Lakewood police said a Colorado State Patrol trooper on foot was struck by a car as he investigated a traffic crash Friday.
Just after 4 p.m., the trooper was out of his patrol car investigating a traffic crash that occurred on southbound South Wadsworth Boulevard and US 285, police said. While he was checking out an accident that occurred earlier, the driver of an SUV tried to turn onto westbound US 285 from South Wadsworth and hit the trooper.
The trooper was "in the crosswalk and had the crosswalk signal," Lakewood police said in a statement. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and drugs or alcohol are not suspected at this time.

The trooper had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries.
The driver of the SUV was cited for careless driving causing bodily injuries, police said.
