Avon Activates Cooling Centers
The Town of Avon's two designated cooling centers will be open to those seeking a break from the heat through Thursday, July 10.

AVON, CT — With very hot and humid temperatures forecast over the next several days, the town is designating the Avon Senior Center and the Avon Free Public Library as cooling centers.
Both will be available for any resident seeking relief from the extreme heat and humidity.

The Avon Senior Center is located at 635 West Avon Road and staff can be reached at (860) 675-4355 with questions.
Its cooling center will be available on Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Avon Senior Center is not available today, July 8, due to the budget referendum taking place there.
The Avon Free Public Library is located at 281 Country Club Road and staff can be reached at 860-673-9712 with questions.
Its cooling center will be available now through Wednesday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
