Avon Home Badly Damaged By Fire: AVFD

Farmington, Canton and Avon firefighters battled the inferno, which started in an attached garage.

AVON, CT — A home on Timber Lane was badly damaged by fire Thursday evening in Avon, with fire officials investigating the cause.

According to the Avon Volunteer Fire Department, units were called to the scene at about 5:10 p.m. Thursday.

First arriving units found a well-involved garage blaze extending to the house, wrote the AVFD.

Fire officials said all occupants were accounted for with no injuries.

Mutual aid was received from Tunxis Hose, Farmington, and Canton fire departments.

The fire was quickly knocked down. Units cleared the scene approximately 8:30 pm., fire officials said.

Responding units were: Tunxis Hose Company No. 1; Town of Farmington Fire Department, Connecticut; Canton CT Fire and EMS Department; and the Avon Police Department.
