Police are encouraging people to use the trail as they wish, but also say that people should be as aware of their surroundings as possible and possibly be out in pairs.
There will be an increased police presence on the trail, with officers on bicycles, some on foot, and some on a Gator.
Police are also looking into incidents in other towns that may possibly be connected to this incident.
These trails are used often, so police are asking people who were in the area and may have seen something that didn’t fit into place to contact the Avon Police Department’s detective unit at 860-409-4230.
