Avon Urges Town Hall Visitors Exercise Caution In Parking Lot

AVON, CT — The town is warning Avon Town Hall visitors to be careful in the parking lot in preparation for a new paving job there this weekend.

Weather permitting, the paving of Climax Heights Road and the Avon Town Hall parking lots facing West Main Street (Route 44) will occur on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Town officials said the lots were milled on Saturday, Sept. 20, "leaving some uneven surfaces."

As a result, those visiting the town hall this week should exercise caution when walking from their cars into the buildings, Avon officials wrote.

"If possible, consider conducting your business online or over the phone. You may also wish to park in the rear lot (behind Buildings 5, 6, and 7)," wrote the Town of Avon.

Those coming to pay their October sewer use bill should consider paying online or dropping their payment in the drop box at the top of the sidewalk in front of Buildings 1 and 2.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation," wrote the town.
