AVON, CT — The Avon Police Department last month honored several of its own for on-the-job heroics during 2024.

The APD June 25 recognized members for their "exceptional and dedicated service in 2024" as well as three "outstanding citizens" for their "brave, courageous, and life-saving heroism."

• Avon Police Department 2025 Officer of the Year: Det. Jason Reid.

• Police Merit Award: Sgt. David Gannon.

• Life Saving Award: Sgt. Mark Arbogast, Officer Christopher Poulin, Officer Felix Acosta, Officer Dustin Rinaldo, and Officer Steven Levin.

• Letter of Commendation: Det. Sgt. Jeffrey Gilbert, Det. Jason Reid, Sgt. Jennifer Raspardo, Sgt. Jeffrey Dubien, Officer Ryan Dery, Officer Erin Connole, Officer Steven Levin, Officer Frank Guth, Officer Dustin Rinaldo, Officer Timothy Casey, Officer Jacob Whitty, and Officer Dustin Rinaldo.
