Avon's Storefronts To Shine For The Holidays

AVON, CT — Local officials are urging members of Avon's business community to decorate their storefronts for the holidays and local residents to enjoy the results of their efforts.

The Avon Town Council last week announced its annual "Avon Shines" campaign for 2024, with Avon businesses urged to decorate their storefronts by Dec. 20.

Those businesses will then be included on a special map distributed in town that folks can obtain to see these displays of holiday cheer.

"Avon businesses will be bringing the holiday spirit throughout the month of December," wrote the council last week.

"A map with all participating businesses will be shared so residents can check out their efforts and cast their vote for the best holiday decorations."

Those maps will provide a means for folks to vote for their favorite displays, with a trophy awarded to the business with the most votes.

In 2023, Dom's Coffee took home the top prize.

Those looking to be added to the town map for 'Avon Shines' are asked to email towncouncil@AvonCT.gov.
