Fire Marshal: Cause for Avon Brush Fire Unknown

Avon, Canton and Farmington firefighters responded to a one-acre brush fire on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.

A brush fire Saturday spread throughout one acre of undeveloped land in Avon.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 3:30 p.m. that day to the fire that caught hold about 1,000 feet from the Princeton Drive cul-de-sac. 

Avon Fire Marshal James DiPace said that the fire did not touch any homes. It's unknown at this time "who or what caused the fire," DiPace wrote in an email to Patch 

Canton and Farmington Tunxis Hose firefighters also responded to assist Avon crews.
