Help Avon Land Trust Attack Non-Native Plants

The Avon Land Trust is looking for volunteers to attack one of its properties on Saturday and rid it of invasive plant species.

AVON, CT — A local land preservation organization will attack one of its properties this Saturday and rid it of invasive plants.

And it is looking for help in carrying out its mission.

The Avon Land Trust is hosting an invasive species removal operation on Saturday, May 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at its "Marge's Barn" property, located at 160 Huckleberry Hill Road, Avon.

Volunteers will tackle the site and its trails and remove non-native flora and fauna so native species can grow and thrive.

There's no need to register. Just show up.

Those participating, however, are asked to bring a shovel, spade, or any tools of choice as well as some work gloves to protect their hands.
