Avon's Holiday Decorating Contests: See Who Won

AVON, CT — The holiday season has officially ended in Avon with two major holiday decorating contests announcing its winnters this week.

Holiday history was made with the Avon Recreation and Parks Department on Thursday, announcing the winners of the town's inaugural Holiday Decorating Contest.

"For our very first year, Avon truly showed up," wrote the recreation department.

"Thank you to everyone who participated and helped turn our town into a sparkly winter wonderland. The creativity, cheer, and festive spirit were absolutely amazing. We had so many great entries, but the public has spoken on the winners."

This year’s winners were:

• Deck Your House – 55 Old Wheeler Lane

• Sleigh the Doorway – 390 Lovely St.

• Frosty’s Choice – 55 Old Wheeler Lane

Runner-up shoutouts (no prizes, but major bragging rights):

• Deck Your House Runner-Up – 223 Scoville Road

• Sleigh the Doorway Runner-Up – 14 Porter Place

• Frosty’s Choice Runner-Up – 34 Hidden Oaks Drive

Avon Shines

On Friday, Jan. 2, the Town of Avon announced the winners of the annual 'Avon Shines' holiday decorating contest for businesses.

The town said Dom's Coffee/Dom's Creamery was this year’s winner

"Their festive creativity and community spirit truly lit up Avon," wrote the town. "As part of the honor, Dom’s will proudly display the Avon Shines trophy throughout 2026."

The runner‑up was The North House, last year’s champion, who "once again delivered a beautiful and spirited display."
