Join Avon Land Trust For Two Community Events This Weekend
The land trust is hosting a scenic winter hike at a local preserve as well as a special workshop on planting seeds later.

AVON, CT — The holidays are behind us, and it's now time to get outside and get moving, with the Avon Land Trust hosting two separate events this Saturday, Jan. 3, that are along those lines.
• At 9:45 a.m., folks can gather at the Avon Senior Center parking lot, 635 W. Avon Road, Avon, CT for a beautiful, flat hike around the Thompson Osborne Preserve.

Long-time Avon Land Trust hike leader, Jeff Grindrod, will lead this Avon Land Trust and Avon Recreation and Parks Department hike.
This is a pristine area surrounded by streams. The hike starts at 10 a.m. and is 1.5 miles long. For those who would like a longer hike, there will be additional options.

• Also at 10:30 a.m., people can join Avon Land Trust President, Tom Kassan, for a native seed planting workshop at Countryside Park, 335 Huckleberry Hill Road.
