'Loud Noises' At Avon PD Training Event Thursday, March 6: Police

Police assure residents the situation is not an emergency, but 'loud noises' may be heard.

AVON, CT — If those traveling through Avon Thursday evening, March 6, notice extensive noise and police activity in one part of town, they needn't worry.

It's only a training exercise.

The Avon Police Department said Wednesday it will conduct a "police training event" in the vicinity of West Main Street and Darling Drive during the evening hours.

"There will be brief, loud noises at approximately p.m.," wrote the APD. "There is no emergency."
