Major Avon FD HQ Renovation Planned
The Avon Town Council recently heard two major presentations on a large plan to renovate the Avon Volunteer Fire Department's headquarters.

AVON, CT — Plans to renovate and update the Avon Volunteer Fire Department headquarters in town are progressing, with the town's top elected body earlier this month tackling the topic.
At its Sept.4 meeting, the Avon Town Council received two presentations related to the ongoing design efforts for improvements to the AVFD’s facilities at 25 Darling St.:

• Building Committee Recommendation – An overview of the building committee’s updated project proposal as presented by the project architect.
• Debt Modeling Presentation – A financial model prepared by town staff and the town’s financial advisor to illustrate how the project, and other near-term capital projects, could impact the town’s long-term debt profile.

Both presentations are available for public viewing at this time.

No action was taken Sept. 4, but it is expected that the town council will revisit this project over the next several months, and the next steps will be determined at that time.
